Starting Point – you’ll need to decide on a starting location for your trip. There are many more options you can can choose. Still, some of our favorites include choosing a nearby landmark, starting at the beginning of a highway or interstate, or picking a city and then driving in any direction from there.
Choose your destination – once you know where you’re going and how long you have to get there, choose destinations that might interest you.
Map it out – use Google Maps (or another mapping software) and create an itinerary with stops that will allow you to see things that interest you.
Before you embark on your great bank of america travel center adventure, ensure you have all your essentials handy. You won’t be able to stop and grab anything along the way! Pack snacks for long drives, your favorite music for those long stretches without service, and plenty of water. It’s also good to keep a charged phone in case of emergency. You can drive freely between states and only need an ID to rent a car. For international road trips, you’ll need a valid passport. If you plan on driving through Canada or Mexico, you will also need an extra form of identification known as a Border Crossing Card.
